Education

The major problem

Students have to share desks because there are not enough desks for every student. They only have one textbook for every ten students. No book bags, pencils, paper, books, workbooks, and not enough desks for every student to have their own seat. Most countries do not allow girls to go to school they have to stay home and take care of the family and if they need water they have to go and get the water and they do not have time to go to school. Some countries are so poor that they do not have enough money for school building’s, teachers, staff, and supplies for the children to have their own stuff that they need for school.

The reason why there is a problem

Most countries do not have money for schools because they spend all of their money on weapons and ammunition for war and to be able to defend themselves against attacks from other countries. Instead of giving the children an education they are teaching them how to fight and use a gun. Most countries are worried about war and not their children getting an education. They would rather fight then try and solve issues peacefully.

Other countries views on the matter

Most other nations view the issue as the children need an education and that they do not need to be out there fighting in the war. Other nations think that the children need to be educated to be able to help get them out of all the wars. They think that the children’s place is in a school not on the battle field. Most countries try to help other countries by giving them money to help the children to try and get them into schools.

Programs that have helped the problem

One of the programs that have been successful is the UNICEF program that helps students get what they need to be able to stay in school and off the battle field.

The way the issue affects us on all levels

This issue affects us at all levels whether it be globally, national, and or local

Things people are doing to try and stop the problem from continuing

UNICEF is working with the governments, NGO’s and communities to assess the needs and procure the supplies that students need for school by putting together the “School-in-a-box” and the “Recreation Kit” the kits include paper, pencils, pens, workbooks, and other supplies that students need for school.
