Problems of War Crimes:

War crimes include violations of established protection of the laws of war("War Crimes"). What is happening is during the time war opposite sides will do any of the following to gain an advantage in war, to be on top in the battle. War crimes consist of murder, ill treatment of prisoner of wars, and killing hostages. It also includes destruction of cities and villages and any other devastation not justified ("War Crimes"). Human rights violated in this process can include any of the following from the Universal Declaration of Human Rights consisting of: Article 5, 9, and depending on the severity of the crime could go as far as to breach the rights of article 1 and 2 as well ("Universal  Declration of Human Rights").

Factors:

The reason war crimes are committed by groups of people are due to many possible circumstances. One reason war crimes are committed because of the fact that the two groups are at war want an advantage on one another. This advantage can make it harder for the opponent to bounce back or cause a struggle for them. Some will do what ever it takes to win or get this advantage. People purposely do this because they want the power and control of what they are fighting for.

Iraq:

The situation in Iraq with Saddam Hussein consisted of the fact that Saddam supported Joseph Stalin’s idea of a communism government. In order to protect Iraq and his beliefs Hussein thought that it was practical to perform “ethnic cleansing” on the Kurds. By carrying out this injustice rule Saddam committed various war crimes against the Kurds, consisting of many murders and other injustice crimes such as killing children. Saddam also seen it as a goal to eliminate Shiism; a religion that has different beliefs and values than the Arabs. This process was known as Arabization. Other crimes Saddam committed and allowed during the time were rape and the machine gunning of protestors. ("War Crimes of Saddam  Hussein")

Rwanda:

The conflict in Rwanda  started when the Hutu president’s airplane was shot down. Hutu’s believe it was the Tutsis and this caused an outrage in Africa. When the Tutsi president was asked about the incident he said that the Hutus did it themselves to bring forth a reason to eliminate the Tutsis.

Several hours after the incident violence started occurring. War crimes within Rwanda consisted of torture, rape, mass killings, and other brutal crimes such as attempting genocide. An estimated 800,000 people were murdered in the span of one hundred days. Peace has not been able to come considering the Tutsis lead the government now and believe they need to rebel against the Hutu in order to prevent genocide ("Rwanda: How The Genocide Happened").

Yugoslavia:

In Yugoslavia during the time period 1991-2001 a war broke out between Serbia and Yugoslavia. This happened due to the over-wide spread of communism throughout the European world. Serbia; lead by Slobodan Milosevic were committing war crimes to Yugoslavia citizens in order to try and enforce communism rule (“Slobodan Milosevic”). Doing so Milosevic was indicted by the United Nations and presented guilty with sixty six counts of crimes against humanity, genocide, and other war crimes committed in the Balkan Wars (“Milosevic’s War Crimes”).

Organizations dealing with War Crimes:

Successful organizations created to help solve conflicts dealing with war crimes consist of The United Nations War Crime Commission. What this does is put war criminals on trial and judge them. After, they come to a conclusion on the punishment for the guilty ("The United War Crimes Commission"). Another thing used to solve war crimes in present areas is The International Criminal Court. This is very identical to the U.N.W.C.C, consisting of trying the war criminals and determining their punishment varying by the war crime committed ("ICC At a Glance").

Great start - go through the rubric and make sure you have answered all of the questions. And make sure that everything is either in your own words, or is in quotation marks.
