     The worlds discrimination?

Racial discrimination is defined by dictionary.reference.com as a unruly or unfair behavior afflicted on individuals based on their race. The United States has a great level of racial diversity. It is illegal to discriminate against? people by race. These areas include employment, housing, accommodations, real estate buying, provision of goods and services, accessing public places, using public transportation services and in advertising.

The Civil Rights Act of 1964 protects individuals against employment discrimination on the cases of race, national origin, sex, and religious beliefs. ( http://www.eeoc.gov/types/races.html The law has not stoped racism entirely, but it was one of the many steps to better the United States. To date, we, the United States of America is one of the most diverse nations in the world.

"Racism in the United States is still well know to be active. Some examples of racism are: racial profiling, affirmative action, and police brutalities against minorities,  and the rising resentment against immigrants."

Racial profiling is when police set a certain race of one suspect. They target that race entirely. For example "Oklahoma City bombing in which the two white male assailants wereable to flee while officers reportedly operated on the theory that the act had been committed by Arab Terrorists." (get web site put it here). another situation of racial profiling is the a similar situation given by the same page of www. amnesty.com. "During the Washington, DC area sniper investigation, the African American man and boy ultimately accused of the creme reportedly were able to pass through multiple roads blocks with the alleged murder weapon in their possession, in part, because police profilers theorized the crime had been committed by a white male acting alone."  These two stories should have had ended with these people being arested but due too racial profiling they were not. Many people believe that blacks are more often to be carrying drugs or drug dealing drugs. On "The Truth About Racial Profiling: FIVE  FACTS (TTARP)" www.amnesty.org. In the United States a survey by the department of justice in 1999 revealed that while officer disproportionately focused on African- Americans and Latino drivers, they found drugs more often on whites (17%) than when they searched African Americans (8%). In New jersey a similar study was shown were whites 25% of the time had drugs, while blacks were at 13% and Latinos at 5%.

The Septemer 11th attacks is what manly fueled the hate crimes to diffrent racial groups in America. Arab and Muslim-America community leaders said "Racial profiling tactics such as the Department of Justice and INS's Special Registration program have greatly diminished thir community members' desire to assist with anti terrorism efforts." (TTARP) www.amnesty.org. Former President Bush and General Ashcroft both oppose racial profiling. Even after the September 11th attacks General Ashcroft still said this. While President Bush was in office, in 2003 he baned  racial profiling by federal law.
